Union Lido Mare has always been committed to adopting the best solutions to guarantee the safeguarding and protection of the environment, always keeping an eye on these objectives.
It is precisely thanks to the scrupulous attention dedicated to the environment that it was awarded the Green Travel Awards of the Italian Press Federation, as the Best Eco-Sustainable and Responsible Resort.
Union Lido Mare was also one of the first accommodation facilities in the late 1980s to obtain ISO 14001 certification, consisting of a series of regulations and guidelines that define the implementation and organisation of a quality system, safeguarding and protecting the environment.

Safeguarding the habitat of nature areas
The resort of Cavallino-Treporti, in the province of Venice, has always been renowned for its scenic beauty and is a perfect destination for nature lovers.
Union Lido Mare is committed to ensuring the biodiversity of the flora and the preservation of native species in its 4 hectares of pine forest and sandy shore, a habitat favourable to the nesting of protected birds and the growth of pioneer plants.
The use of certified biological treatments for mosquito pest control as well as the smoking ban on the entire Union Lido beach help to safeguard the beauty of the area, in all its facets.
SUSTAINABILITY AND RENEWABLES

Separate Collection
Union Lido Mare has always sought to reduce the input of plastic into the environment by using bagasse and paper in take-away containers.
Today, more than ever, this policy has been extended to all internal activities, with the aim of reducing plastic by more than 90%.
Union Lido Mare wants to achieve this through careful waste separation, efforts to educate guests to recycle, and infographics installed in each of the 78 collection areas and in the accommodation kitchens.

Green energy
In recent years, lighting has been replaced in preference to LED systems with energy savings of 75%, as well as the installation of photovoltaic panels to generate electricity.
The remaining electricity needed is purchased from a certified supplier of energy from renewable sources.

Sustainable Architecture
For years now, Union Lido Mare has been working to integrate increasingly sustainable architecture into its facilities, based mainly on the use of natural materials and the conscious consumption of resources.
An example of this is the Camping Home Veranda, a living unit built using recycled resources, as well as the installation of induction hobs that avoid gas installations.

Conscious management of water resources
Toilets have integrated solar energy systems to help produce hot water. All taps are also equipped with flow reducers with timers, including showers around the campsite, in water parks and on the beach.
In the state-of-the-art sanitary blocks, even the toilets have low water consumption.
In addition, Ecolab-brand biodegradable detergents are used to clean the 14 blocks.

Prevention measures
To preserve the environment and ensure a healthy and clean stay, Union Lido Mare promotes a no-smoking policy on the entire beach.
In addition, all Union Lido Mare employees, approximately 500 people, are not allowed to smoke in the entire facility area.
This commitment helps to keep the air fresh and to protect the beautiful natural surroundings.
